Build confidence. Learn the fundamentals. Start skating.

What Comes After Beginner?

Once an athlete has developed their skating foundation, they can choose where they want to take their skating.

Want to explore?

Try multiple disciplines and discover what the athlete enjoys — and where they show the most potential.

Want to specialise?

Choose one discipline and build progressively toward mastery.

Choose What You Want to Master

Your programme is tailored around the skating discipline you choose. Select one to personalise everything below.

3 / 6 / 12-Month Development

Discipline-specific training

The Beginner Programme builds the foundation. The longer programmes are where athletes begin structured, discipline-specific development.

Choose Your Commitment

Choose 3, 6 or 12 months of structured development. Your training is then tailored to the discipline — or combination of disciplines — you choose.

Longer commitment means a lower effective monthly investment — and more time to progress, specialise, assess and refine. The programmes are not different products; they are different depths of development.

What Changes With Length

Most of what an athlete receives is the same in all three. What a longer programme buys is time, depth and more opportunities to measure progress.

Your Training Frequency Is Tailored

There is no single training schedule that works for every athlete. Frequency is set with your coach according to:

  • Athlete goals
  • Selected discipline
  • Current ability
  • Age and experience
  • Availability
  • The rink hours you secure
  • Competition schedule
  • Development priorities

How ice time works

Your Progress Is Measured For Your Sport

Not every skater should be measured the same way. Big Ice assessments and reports are tailored to the athlete's chosen skating discipline.

These are examples of what may be assessed. Not every metric is measured every time — the coach sets the assessment around the athlete and the discipline.

See Your Progress

Your programme can include:

Performance Analysis

Behind every programme is a structured approach to assessing technique, tracking progress and identifying the athlete's next development priority.

Powered by Big Ice's performance-analysis methodology.

Ready to Compete?

If an athlete chooses a competitive pathway, Big Ice can incorporate competition and event preparation into their training. This may include:

  • Competition-specific training
  • Tactical preparation
  • Performance review
  • Event preparation
  • Post-event analysis

Play Roller Hockey Through NRHL

Big Ice runs the Nairobi Regional Hockey League. For athletes who choose Inline Hockey, that means a route from training into a competitive roller hockey environment.

  1. Train with Big Ice
  2. Develop hockey-specific skills
  3. Prepare for competitive play
  4. Participate in NRHL opportunities where eligible

Participation depends on eligibility, age group and readiness. [VERIFY] Confirm current NRHL eligibility requirements and age categories before publishing them.
